I am trying to figure out if it is worth keeping a Logitech MX Master 3S Mouse for an iPad Pro. It seems like you cannot program the side buttons to “backwards and forwards.” For those using this mouse, what function do you assign to each button? Also, are there any iPad apps that can help with customization?
Thanks in advance.

I use my MX Master 3S with my Mac, but tried it out with the iPad now. Seems it simply presents as a “standard mouse” with nothing more than pointer movement, right and left click, as well as scroll wheel support. I could not find a way to customize the buttons, nor could I find an official Logitech app that adds these features.
FWIW, I simply love my Magic Trackpad for use with the iPad - it feels super natural and integrated with (almost) all swipe actions you use directly on screen.
There is a way to customise additional mouse buttons using the AssistiveTouch feature.
There may be a way also to create custom gestures using AssistiveTouch (for example, swipe from the left edge for going back) and assign them to mouse buttons using the feature above, but I’ve never tried that. I remember there were posts some years ago that gestures could be assigned to mouse buttons on the iPad.
