I’m currently running an iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I’m interested to hear from iPhone Air owners 3 months in.
What do you love about it?
What do you feel are its greatest constraints?
If you could go back 3 months would you still buy it or would you buy a different model and if so, which?
I’m interested as recent rumours are that there will be no new iPhone Air in 2026, but potentially a new model in 2027. plus the underlying assumption that a lot of the tech used in the iPhone Air is a basis for the Phone/tablet fold.
I love my iPhone Air. It is the best iPhone I have ever owned.
In practice over the last three months, there have been a couple of times I’ve had to charge my phone or maybe I wouldn’t have needed to before. But those were edge cases such as on travel days or spending too much time on YouTube.
There have been maybe two times that I’ve missed having the ultra wide camera; otherwise the single camera has been perfect for just about every need that I have.
Otherwise, I love the form factor. It’s a bigger display than my last phone (iPhone 14 Pro). It’s lighter and easier to hold in my hand.
I honestly spend more time worrying about the limited storage in my M4 Mac mini than I do anything about my iPhone Air.
Do you use a case or, does a case make it not as light anymore? If I do get an Air, I want that Apple Clear Case too (I’m using one on the 13 Pro), but it is bulky.
I have the Apple clear case. It does add a little weight but it’s still pretty darn light compared to the 14 Pro. Sometimes I do go without a case and I enjoy that experience a little bit more. However, that’s due to the clear case being a little more slippery than the titanium frame. I typically have a MagSafe pop socket on the phone when using the case.
I love my iPhone Air - the size is great (I switched from an iPhone Mini) and the battery life is fine for me. I got a really minimal case that lets me appreciate the look and feel of the phone - almost as if there were no case on it.
I love he Air! it’s the best phone to use and the most beautiful phone I’ve ever owned. The constraints are the same as you saw in every other review. It’s up to you if you can rock the Air or not.
Yes, sometimes you’ll miss the wide lens.
Yes, on some days you’ll need to charge sooner.
Yes, the speaker isn’t as good, and on some video calls, it shows.
Are those deal breakers? Not for me. I think we’ve all been spoiled, and phones have become too good. Honestly, I don’t think you can go wrong if you appreciate the design if the Air.
I love it, still feels like the future every time I pick it up, it’s too light to be real and people that ask to hold it say something similar. I have to charge it mid-day usually but so what? The cameras are fine. No case for me, it’s too beautiful to cover up and add bulk. No speed or performance issues that I’ve come across. I’ve never wished I still had my 16 Pro Max.
I upgraded to an Air from a 13 mini. I have no complaints about the constraints – the single camera, single speaker, or the battery life. Battery life is better than that of my 13 mini.
I just wish it was narrower and shorter. I feel like I have to be more careful to avoid dropping the Air than I did the 13 mini. I would trade some amount of screen real estate, thinness, and battery life for a narrower and shorter phone.
If I could go back to when I bought the device, I would not buy a different one. But truthfully, I might have stuck with the 13 mini.
