iPhone customers upset by Apple Wallet ad

A bit of feigning outrage years after Apple has added obnoxious advertising to the App Store. The commitment to art and style has dropped a few pegs since Steve existed stage left.

IMO, Apple really wants to get into advertising. Remember iAds they launched about fifteen years ago.

Looking forward to seeing that F1 movie, but this isn’t the future we were hoping for.

App Store is one thing. That is literally the place to sell you new software. Ads in the actual system is another matter.

Yes and I keep having to reiterate to people the difference between Apple and companies like Google or Facebook.

We pay a premium for Apple Hardware so that we can fund what we consider a premium experience. Google and Facebook deliver a mostly free product that is only sustainable through advertising.

Totally different strategies. I remember when Jobs tried to sell that people want apps and importantly they want free apps and iAds was the way to go on this the entire crowd knew it was a shit sandwich and responded accordingly.

I primarily subscribed to Apple One premium because it was beneficial in areas to have it all come from Apple even though they aren’t the category leader is the various services offered in the package.

This burgeoning Apple strategy to extract money from every nook and cranny at the expense of a premium experience will backfire IMO. Apple users are loyal but there are limits.

It’s simple to avoid running the company into the ground. When your clients are vocally complaining, try not to repeatedly do the things they are upset about.

I’m glad promotional notifications can be disabled in 26. I didn’t mind seeing it in the Wallet app as much, but every financial product app is like this and the people developing cross-promotions tend not to prioritize the overall user experience with the brand/platform.
