Since the last couple of ipad updates, I have having issues with the controls in the corner of the screen. . for example, the x in the upper left or the … on the right side. Is this a known issue? I have to quit the applications in order to find the controls again.

Every problem I’m having with my iPad is because of iPadOS 26.
If we are having the same problem, it seems the controls are still there, but occasionally take on the same color as their background. If you remember the position of the X, etc., try clicking in that area.
Now I have a question. Do you use an external keyboard with your iPad?
If so, do you lose the ability to type in Safari from time to time? I’ve had this problem since I “upgraded” to iPadOS 26.
It doesn’t happen with any other app, Notes, Drafts, Edge, Chrome, etc. Just Safari.

I think this has been since 26, or one of the versions after. Safari is the issue—But so is Facebook (she says sheepishly). I do have an external keyboard and sometimes can’t type if I’m on one of the ‘alt’ keyboards (e.g. Text Expander).

I haven’t noticed a problem in Safari on iPadOS26 and external keyboard, BUT I have definitely noticed an issue with app search. I often use a “pull down on the screen” gesture to get into app search. On iPadOS26, it always fails the first time in that I try to type and nothing registers from the keyboard. So I dismiss the search window, do it again, and it always works the second time. Annoying.
