Issues with Mail app in iOS and iPadOS 26

I am really stumped. Have a whole bunch of mail rules set up in the Mail app on my Mac that move emails to local folders and removed them from my inbox. This state would sync with my iPhone and iPad so that the messages did not appear in those platforms either. Ever since I started running iOS and iPadOS 26 betas these emails continued to be moved and deleted from my Inbox on my MacBook Pro but are not deleted in the Mail app on either my iPhone and iPad. The problem has persisted clear into the current public release of the OS 26s. I have filed several feedbacks reports to Apple. This problem appears to only impact my primary (professional) email account which is gmail. Guessing this is another head butting between Google and Apple. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Truly makes Apple Mail on my mobile devices unusable.

I’ve seen similar behavior in Apple Mail. I use server side rules in Google Workspace to file incoming mail so only important messages are delivered to my inbox. But AM will continue to display messages that are not in the Inbox, sometimes even after I’ve manually resynchronized the account.

I haven’t regularly used Apple Mail in years and run Google Workspace in the browser (macOS 15.7) and Gmail.app on my iPhone and iPad. (iOS/iPadOS 26).

Thunderbird on Mac, is the only other client I have used in the last few years. And it doesn’t have this problem.
