iOS 26 is beginning to make me regret not just upgrading, but using Apple at all. How can it produce such a rubbish update?
My most recent frustration is to do with the Mail.app. I received an email from my daughter’s school which I forwarded to my daughter. I then went to reply to the email and it added my daughter into the To field not the original recipient. I ended up replying on my Mac as it kept doing this; and yes, I was in the specific email from the school.
I then went back to iOS and turned off threading. I went back to the original email from the school and hit reply and this time it added the school email correctly, but it quoted the reply I had made on my Mac.
Somehow, mail.app on iOS is working on threads (even when turned off), and will not act on the current open email. This makes the app unusable. The app should perform its action on the current email that is open. I’m now switching to a different mail app as I cannot trust this one to send a simple reply. For Pete’s sake Apple!
