Journalling suggestions on Day One on iPadOS

I’ve been playing with suggestions on my iphone in DayOne, but when I’ve opened it on my iPad to do the same the suggestions button isn’t there.

I’ve checked and I’m on the latest version of DayOne and also of iPadOS.

I know that Journal is only available on iOS, so I’m wondering if the suggestions just aren’t available to any app on iPadOS.

Can anyone confirm please?

I’ve just reread the press release/blog post by DayOne and it calls out DayOne for iPhone. Seems it’s not available on iPadOS.

That’s such a shame, but I suspect it’s a limitation from Apple.

Yeah, the Suggestions API is just on the iPhone as far as I know.

I expect there will be iPadOS and macOS versions, but they may not be available until the releases of the next OS versions in late 2024, though Apple development can be inscrutable. Until then, a bluetooth keyboard hooked up to your phone is probably your best option for typing longer entries.

Thanks, at the moment I’m just starting on the iPhone and then moving over to the iPad
