Keynote Sharing

My company makes heavy use of Keynote and we’ve just hired our second trainer. What is the best way to give her access to my slides? Ultimately, she will be training without me. I’ve historically run into significant problems with Keynote when I use the Share option and I get errors like this:

It’s not feasible that we will always been on the same version of Mac OS and Keynote. We live 6-7 hours away from one another. I’m loaning her my old 2020 Intel MacBook Pro and I’m on an M2 that I plan to update at some point relatively soon.

I realize it would be easier to use Google Slides or even PowerPoint, but I love Keynote and don’t want to switch. Advice welcome!

To collaborate successfully both of you should be on the same version of Keynote. Being on the same macOS would be wise as well.

Apple is telling you this already. Have you tried to share a file via iCloud.com? While that might be clunky for one or both of you, that may be a workaround.

If this is really important… then both of you need to be equal in regards to OS/software.

@Doty, @MacGuyMI is correct; you both need to be on the same version of Keynote. I ran into this same issue a year ago with my EA. Updating her version of Keynote solved the problem. As @MacGuyMI pointed out, it is also best to be on the same OS. Another option, though I haven’t tried it, is to collaborate on the Keynote in iCloud rather than in the native app.
