After upgrading to DT 4, I’ve noticed a significant gap between the formatting bar and the text entry area. This issue affects both RT and Markdown notes. The area enclosed within the red-bordered box remains blank and cannot be typed in.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea what may be causing it?
I have been using DevonThink 4 for few days now.
Haven’t seen this issue. Both Rich Text and Markdown files work as expected
You’ll get immediate help from the DEVONtechnologies staff if you post your issue on their forum.
If you have a repeatable bug, open the Help menu in DEVONthink 4, while holding the Option key down, click “report bug” at the bottom of the help menu. This will create an email with attached technical information, ready for you to explain the problem and send it to DEVONthink support.

Yes, in fact, I’m a bit OCD, I reboot all of my devices, even my watch, once a week. 
I know, I’m nuts.
I found the issue. I was still using the latest beta version of DT 4. I didn’t realize this because I rarely run betas. Honestly, I’m not even sure how I ended up on the beta—which is why I shouldn’t be trusted to run one! 
I uninstalled and downloaded the correct version. Everything is working correctly now.
Not at all. If I ever finished my work at the end of the day, I’d shut down my work laptop every night.
It’s likely you had Format > Typewriter-like scrolling enabled.
Hmmm, that’s possible, but I did not know that feature was available in DT. If it was activated, I must have done so accidentally with a keyboard shortcut. Thanks for letting me know–I’ll remember this for the future!

It can be enabled by default in the Editing > Format settings or on a case-by-case basis via the Format menu.
