Looking for cursor enhancer

I am making instructional videos and am looking for a macOS application I can use to make my screen cursor more noticeable. Ideally, I could click a keyboard shortcut that would put a circle or square around my cursor so the viewer could see what I’m pointing at. Then, and this is even more important, when I’ve activated the cursor enhancer, I could hold down a key like the fn key and it would magnify whatever is inside the cursor shape. Once I take my finger off that key, the magnification would end.

I’ve read two App Store articles about these types of apps, but the story didn’t say if any of the apps had this exact functionality. I took a chance and bought Presentation Assistant, but the keyboard shortcut doesn’t work and you have to turn the magnification on and off instead of just quickly toggling it by holding and releasing a key. There’s another app called Cursor Pro that might fit the bill, but it’s $14.99 and I don’t want to pay that much unless I’m sure it will do what I need.

Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Many screen recording utilities will allow for e.g. highlight on click. Does yours?

As noted by @Vincent_Ardern, a dedicated screen recording app can provide the function you want and more. They can be worth their investment cost, especially as you discover that you really want to do more than just the basics. I use Camtasia for all of my instructional video production.

I discovered that macOS has a zoom capability built into the Accessibility settings that gets me part of the way there.
