let’s share examples of home and lock screen setups that use Liquid Glass. I need the creative ideas from the hive. ![]()
A black screen with icons.
20 characters.
I tried a solid color and a simple gradient as my background, but that does not “work”; Liquid Glass looks very ugly on those.
I’m sad that I have to find a new wallpaper because Liquid Glass looks so ugly on my beloved one (the 4 gray Nord theme colors).
@Bmosbacker You’re the professional person who uses an iPad in Portrait! I never thought I’d meet someone. ![]()
You still haven’t.
All but the last screenshot are from my phone. I’ll add titles to avoid confusion. ![]()
That’s good, I won’t need to shun you now ![]()
You wouldn’t be the first or the last! ![]()
You are right, Rob. I think the new design language is hideous on iPhone and iPad. It does not work with a blank background. I go with a black screen and the new look icons with their “glossy lighting effect” look terrible. Because I go with a black screen, the OS surrounds everything (notifications, widgets, the dock etc) with a white box. That’s what you want on a pure black Home Screen).
woof! That looks bad. What about the minimalists?!
There’s no toggle for that in Settings somewhere?
I used chatGPT to create a whole series of lockscreens, thematically similar but each linked to a different focus mode.
This one is for “Play”. It cracks me up, but it’s also cautionary wrt LLMs.
Including your contact information on the lock screen is a great idea! I’ve never considered that.
I assume I have to create an image to accomplish that because as far as I know, one cannot add text to a lock screen. Am I correct about that?
That (build the image from parts) is what I did yes. And there actually came a time when a lost iPhone was returned to me in only about an hour.
On the other hand (and way off topic but probably of interest to most) I found an iPhone in the bike lane one day. The lock screen showed a nice photo of a couple but I could never find a way to identify them and return it.
I must confess to being pretty disappointed in the lock screen options. Apart from increasing the size of stuff you can still only have one widget box. What’s that about?
Still sad/annoyed that Apple forced me to change my beloved Lock Screen / Home Screen wallpapers, but this weekend I changed them once again and now Liquid Glass is slowly growing on me (it looks better on them than on almost all other wallpapers that I have tried before, but why should I as a user have to find “proper” images?)
