Several weeks ago, I started using the Be Focused Pro pomodoro application to both keep me focused and also track my activities.
However, it doesn’t track activities that take less than 1 pomodoro’s worth of time. So the time spent on “quick” tasks. is lost to time.
Are there any pomodoro apps that can track a partial pomodoro? Like 1/4, 1/2 , etc? I’m trying to keep the pomodoro app dual purpose so that I don’t have to use more than one app.
How would you handle this ?
I consider time tracking to be separate to techniques like pomodoro. So I use one app for time tracking that has minute-level granularity and then just use a standard timer when I am sitting down and want to do that type of focussed work.
The time tracker I use is timetagger which I self-host, but they have a hosted option as well. It’s just about detailed enough for my use without being overwhelming. It also has an API so I have a sequence of shortcuts on my iPhone. For example, the “START” one I press and it asks me to select from a range of tags, then starts a timer for that. This reduces the friction to track the next segment otherwise I would spend too much time maintaining that or worse yet retrospectively logging it at the end of the day. For example, here is what I tracked yesterday:
