MacBook Pro, 16 GB, M1 Pro: Is it okay to upgrade from Sonoma to Sequoia?

I have a MacBook Pro with 16 GB RAM and M1 Pro chip (not to be confused with MacBook Pro with a regular M1 chip). Is it okay to upgrade it from Sonoma to Sequoia? There are rumors Sequoia is slow. Of course, they can be just rumors. Or not.

I don’t know anything of the “slowness” report, but probably of greater importance is if the apps you use and/or depend on report any issues. Perhaps do some research with those app developers.

Well, the new Passwords app. It is not easy to pay with Visa or Mastercard here in my country for 1Password.

Then maybe not upgrade if that important to you.

Sequoia has been running just fine on my M1 Air 16GB. No issues anywhere.

I’m running Sequoia on an iMac M1 with no issues. Recently used OCLP to install Sequoia on a 2015 MBA with 8gb. I only use it occasionally and usually unitasking but speed isn’t much different.
