A week ago my new Apple M1 Max arrived. In the setup process I had a choice to either restore from time-machine or merge from my 2016 MacBook pro. I chose to merge from my old mac which all worked to perfection.
I then removed personal data, reformatted the hard-drive and reloaded the operating system on my 2016 MacBook Pro and posted it to my granddaughter on the other side of the country …so it’s gone.
Here is what I need your help with: How do I get my new MacBook Pro to recognise and connect with my existing Time-Machine backup which is located on my Synology NAS?
