Absolutely!
It is always interesting to watch design developments like a pendulum swinging from one extreme to the other: there definitely has been a time with too much skeuomorphism, but it was followed by a sterile artificial flatness that did not feel right, either - as fas as I am concerned. Skeuomorphism is not bad by itself when used in healthy doses. Sometimes it even helped to understand the UI and to develop a sense for where to expect certain functions and options. Today’s designs sometimes hide functions in a way that I sometimes am not aware about their presence in the first place.
P.S. Time is passing so fast. This trip down memory lane reminded me that I already have been 17 years on the Mac side of things. Crazy!
