All my widgets suddenly have a white background on macOS Tahoe 26, even when the Mac changes to Dark Mode. In fact, they even remain white when I configure them to always be dark… (something you can do for Fantastical widgets)
Is this a bug? Or “am I holding it wrong”?
(It happens for “all” widgets that I use, from 3 different apps: Fantastical, Batteries, Looks like rain)
It literally changes from week to week. This week you can fix this by going to System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Widgets, Dim widgets on desktop. Change it to “Never”. While you are at it, you may also want to go to Menu Bar and enable Show menu bar background to get the menu bar back.
In my case it went from “Automatic” in last week’s release candidate to “Always” with this week’s release. Switching to “Automatic” it became flakey. But if I set it to “Never” the background does become solid. Here’s how the two displays look for me:
