Recently I’ve gotten this message a few times when trying to reply to email’s I’ve received: “Cannot send message using the server Gary - iCloud; This message could not be sent. It will remain in your Outbox until it can be sent.”
The reply message’s window remains open and I can neither close it nor quit Mail without doing a Force Quit.
I’m curious if this Mail setting on the General tab is checked on:
Automatically try sending later if outgoing server is unavailable.
It was not checked so I have now checked it. Thanks! … Also, I discovered that even though I got the message saying it couldn’t be sent and I had to force quit Mail, when I opened Mail again, the email had actually been sent successfully. Hmmm…
