There’s no non-touchbar option though. The Touch Bar is on the base model.
Even then, you have to factor in other upgrades such as newer processors, redesigned cooling systems, etc.
Take a look at this then.

you can only customize Apple defaults apps such as Safari and Finder. I haven’t seen 3rd party that I normally use that has it.
that’s not true at all, actually. check the View menu.
You are correct should have checked the apps more. Now I do remember customizing Bear’s Touchbar. I’m hoping Ulysses and the Affinity apps too since they are my most frequently used apps. Although I imagine that with Affinity since it’s contextual-based it will be a difficult task to implement.
You can customize the Touch Bar in Firefox.
BTT definitely let’s you do this.
I’m not interested in weird hacks to make a bad “feature” slightly less bad.
Apple should just offer a version without the TouchBar for those of us who hate it. I would pay extra for it, but in a sane world we would be getting a discount.
It isn’t a weird hack at all. It is a very simple tool that has one purpose.
I’m doubtful that’s ever going to happen. Oh well!
