New Brett Terpstra (@ttscoff) release for Markdown users:
(One time $4.99 purchase)
It should have been bundled with Marked App. After paying for the Marked App a quick look must have been the feature and not a product.
I thought QL was targeted at people who don’t have/need the full Marked app…
So this functionality is not part of Marked 3?
No.
How does Marked QL relate to Marked 3?
Marked QL is a lightweight Quick Look companion for instant Finder previews. Marked 3 is a full live-preview app with export, proofreading, custom styles, and editor integration. They work great together, but each app stands on its own.
I have for many years used the QLMarkdown extension which has always worked well for me, and is free.

I spent 2 hours repeating the dev’s troubleshooting steps but could do nothing to make Marked QL work. Way to much time to waste on this. I deleted it and reinstalled QLMarkdown (as @Stephen_C mentioned), which works first-time-every-time with no hassles.

Maybe related to this?
Interesting. Yes, on my Mac mdls shows that all .md documents have kMDItemContentType set to net.ia.markdown
I’ll give MarkedQL another try, Isn’t it aggravating that iA, a supposedly reputable developer, would arrogantly make a global change like this without warning?
Katie
It does work perfectly with my iA Writer files.

A new version (1.1.7) is out on the App Store today that fixed a long list of issues. It’s working OK for me.
Katie
The price was changed to $9.99.
First off, yes, I increased the price of Marked QL from $4.99 to $9.99. (…) The goal of the price increase would be to have less customer support and more invested customers. It will likely mean a drop in sales, but fewer support requests while I work through the initial releases. It’s an experiment.
Me too, I find this extensions excellent for this purpose.
Is there any reason at all to buy the Marked version over QLMarkdown? I cannot see any.
None. The update of Marked QL from yesterday turns out to be very buggy. Maybe if I bought 30 or 40 new licenses from him it would get better support! (Just kidding.)
I deleted it. QLMarkdown is simple and reliable and has been for years.
