Matter newsletter reading app

I’ve been looking for a dedicated newsletter reading app (iOS). Based on Twitter comments, Matter sounds wonderful, but is still invite-only.

  1. Has anyone here used it and have any thoughts?
  2. Does anyone have an invite code they could PM me?

It’s not a newsletter (only) reading app, it’s a newsletter + read-it-later (ala Instapaper and Pocket) app. It’s my favourite read-it-later app thus far. It still lacks in terms of organisation when compared to Instapaper and Pocket, but it has a much more pleasant UI/UX than those two. It also has a more thriving community, probably due to it being new and all.

It has a focus on writers, so it aggregates stuff writers have written under one profile (tweet threads, articles, newsletters). It doesn’t seem to have ALL at once, seems to only have stuff that have been saved by someone else (except for articles, this I believe they use the RSS feed).

Unfortunately I don’t have an invite to share, but getting an invite from the website was fairly quick for me. I just gave my email, answered some survey and got an invite a few days later.

I like it a lot but I use it mainly for following authors and saving articles to.

My preferences have an invite link, but when used, it just redirects to my public profile. So I’m guessing they might have disabled them at the moment.

No, thank you. They even want your phone number. From their Privacy Policy:

Anyone been using Matter lately? I love the idea of a next-gen read it later but I’m also wondering if it’s actually a slimy surveillance company that I’d eventually regret using when they continually pivot to gain users and sell.
