For me the phone wasn’t the problem, getting the apple watch was. I replaced my pebble app with watch, activity, sleep++, and pedometer++. Plus I added BeFocused (pomododo app with watch support). So I gained a net of 4 apps, which pushed around my screen a bit. Ended up finally breaking into a third screen of icons with the first two being apps that I frequently use (~daily) and then a screen with folders. Bonus is that it freed up some more space to add other apps.
