May 2025 Sales and Software Deals

iA Writer for iOS is on sale right now for $19.99!
They say they don’t believe in the time offer mechanism, so maybe this could be the new regular price.

I was considering buying Typinator 9 (much cheaper than updating my version 8), but was there really not a single update to that application in 2024 or 2025?

Sure looks that way. I can’t seem to find any other more recent information.

It’s a good application but the support isn’t that great. it’s email based so even users can’t help each other . you have to wait days before you hear back something. At $5-6, I’d still consider it a good deal though. The app does what it says and is stable.

If Alfred had a regex based expansions, that would be good enough for me to move expansions to that.

It’s not a sale but unbundling of the apps.

How do you use those? (For which use case?)

biggest use case is capitalizing first character after a period .

That alone saves me pressing ⇧ hundreds of times a day lol.

There are other fancy ones out there and i occasionaly use them

I use regex replacements for formatting dates. I might type ;2005-05-15format where format is a short name I have assigned for a specific date format. The date and format name are captured, and the date is converted into the appropriate format. This is especially useful when I want the format to include the day of the week. For example, ;2005-05-15day becomes Sunday, May 15, 2005. In that case I know that day was a Sunday as I remember that I got married on a Sunday, but in most cases, I wouldn’t recall the day and would otherwise need to look it up.

Has anyone tried Macxvideo AI?
You can get it on Bundlehunt for just $4.99. It looks like it could be an interesting piece of software, but I’m a bit worried about the privacy. The performance and features listed on the site seem a bit over-promising to me.
