MCP connections are very hit or miss

I’m using the Chrome connection that Claude uses, and the BusyCal MCP server. I find that more than half the time, Claude tells me it can’t connect to the MCP server, often for different reasons each time. Is anybody else running into this?

I’ve had issues with the Chrome MCP server and I’m having Day One MCP issues but other than that the rest of my MCP servers have been responsive.

Other than Chrome they have been OK. I’m using the BusyCal connector most and that is working well.

I also cannot get the BusyCal MCP server to work. I am working with the BusyMac folks to see why that is :frowning:

I’ve been trying the Todoist MCP, but it’s pretty flaky. The authorization gets rejected almost every time, so I have to disconnect and then reconnect the MCP before trying to use it. I much prefer OmniFocus, but Omni has yet to release an MCP, and I’m too chicken to try any of the community ones.

Claude can do a good job vibe coding an MCP connector for you.

Actually got it to work, apparently the MCP they wrote only worked on the M-series. They updated it so now it works with Intel. I did a thing :raised_hands: LOL

How does one initiate such a job (vide coding an MCP connector to OmniFocus)?

Go to Cowork

Activate the Anthropic MCP Builder Skill

Then Ask Claude to build an OmniFocus MCP connector - you can tell it what specific tools you want the connector to have or you can let it make suggestions.

Thank you

I’ll most definitely try this out - once my daily token limit is back on track…hahahah.

There are at least 3 MCPs already for OmniFocus. You shouldn’t need to vibecode one.

One of them had 4-5 contributors, enough to make me think it has legs.

Thank you for your answer.
Maybe I can learn how to find MCP online.
This is a journey - looking forward to learn how to install and use an MCP for OF.

Here are two that might be worth a look:

I pinged the OmniGroup a month ago. There appeared to be an acknowledgment that they should do something, without any specifics on what or when.
