Messages does not allow Carriage return

When I reply to messages on the Mac I do not get to create a new paragraph because when I hit return it sends the message.

I could not see anything in Prefs, I suppose that could use Drafts to create the message.

Any other way to set messages to accept return without sending?

Option+return and/or shift+return will insert a line break.

I compose and send long iMessages in Drafts.

And in a lot of other text boxes, even outside of messaging apps. :smile:
