I posted this on the Facebook page just before it went down so here it is again, inaugurating the Tech Support category!
I’ve been using Apple’s stock Mail app on macOS and iOS to access my Outlook.com email id and it has worked flawlessly for years. However, I just discovered that 9 emails that were sent to me yesterday have synced on my Mac but not on my iPhone. I have absolutely no idea why I have received all the email before and after that on both devices and why these particular 9 emails are missing from my iPhone. I’ve looked all over (Archive, Deleted items, Drafts etc) to look for them but they cannot be found on the iPhone. They are very much there on the Mac and on Outlook.com. Any ideas as to what might have caused this bizarre and inexplicable behaviour would be great!
Are you using Exchange or IMAP to connect to the Outlook account? We’re having some weird issues at work where people connected via IMAP to our Exchange server have been having some weird issues recently, so it’s possible that something similar is happening here.
Hi Rose! Nice to see you in these new surroundings It is set up as an Outlook account on the iPhone (I think I had selected Outlook.com as the account type) so I guess it is IMAP? On the macOS side, where it is set up as a regular IMAP account things seem to be working fine.
I occasionally have this happen on my MacBook Pro with our work Exchange server. I have to restart the mail app and they start coming in again. This problem pushed me into using Outlook during the day.
