Missing Notes in Search on Mac

When I search iCloud notes on my MBP, I don’t get all the search results. I can find them manually on the MBP. I’ve compared to search results on MBA and other devices. It seems like some are older notes but not all the older notes are missing. If I search within the note, I can find the result but not in “Note List Search”

Steps I’ve tried

  • In spotlight, I added and then removed Macintosh HD
  • Used onyx to rebuild the spotlight search as well.

How would you troubleshoot?

I wonder if unchecking Notes from iCloud syncing in System Preferences, letting it remove them, then re-enabling them would fix it.
