Might want to consider Onyx as well. It’s completely free. Plus there is a contingent that feels that all of these clean up apps are somewhere from useless to harmful. If you want to see where your disk capacity is being used, there are plenty of apps for that as well. I use Disk Inventory X, which is free.

I’ve used CleanMyMac for years and recently came across a post about Mole. Has anyone tried it? Also open to other Mac cleanup app recommendations besides CleanMyMac.
I have had a SetApp sub for 4-5 years now so CleanMyMac has been my default cleaning app.
But I tried Mole ~3-4 weeks ago and loved it instantly so I paid for the lifetime license (I think it was $19) - the ux is cleaner, app loads faster and everything is just more seamless.
I’ve used Mole, it’s fine. Does what it says it will.
Used CleanMyMac on and off for many years and it became bloated, less useful and expensive.
If you want an uninstaller, look at Pearcleaner.

Yes, but what problem are you trying to solve with CleanMyMac?
Years ago I used to run Onyx, but I’ve not needed to do this for at least 5 years and everything runs fine.
I don’t think users need Onyx, cleanmymac or Mole.

I am not trying to resolve a problem, only to prevent and protect my MacBook. Why not use Onyx, cleanmymac or Mole? thank you
It’s basically the same, only more visual which is fine for some activities. Also, when displaying a lot of folders or results, the CLI tool insists on having a limited number of entries so you have to scroll through pages.
Because macOS does a great job of looking after itself.

I did, after first trying the app trip, realizing there was such a thing called “CLI”, and I stayed with it for about a month before getting the full app. Honestly, I feel like it might have been slightly more thorough but the real is, the aesthetic vibes of the app are so prime lol.
Also, RunCat heals something broken inside of me.
