Most economical project planner similar to omniplan?

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know any good free or low-cost project management software with similar visuals as omniplan? I want to use it in my research group but can’t afford to buy everyone omniplan for everyone. Even after edu price, it’s pricey.

I’ve been playing around a bit with Aeon Timeline, which includes some project management features. It’s not free, or even truly “low cost”, but it is less costly than OmniPlan.

Merlin is available with a SetApp subscription. It’s a decent Gantt chart tool.

I’m looking into Merlin. I contacted them to see if they have a educational discount. My wife recommend that initially. She finds it really useful in her work.

ProjectLibre is free and Java based. Decent Gantt chart tool that looks like MS Project - while not appearing as elegant as the Omni products, price is right!
