Mouse Button Help Needed

Hi all,

I have a simple logitech wired mouse with left and right buttons.

I have a very simple need: that the right button could be set to double click.

Apparently software is needed on Monterey to do this.

I found a few Applications that might do this. For this very simple need does anyone have any suggestions how to accomplish this - Any favorites?

Example…

I don’t use it, but Logitech has software for their mice that may work for you:

I replaced Logi Options+ with Better Mouse for my MX3s.
Found it to be great.

I gave up on Logi Options+. It’s better than the previous Logi Options app but still unreliable.

Instead, I use BetterTouchTool to customize my Logitech mouse and keyboard (and for a growing variety of other customizations and automations).

I’ve been a fan of BetterTouchTool since it first came out. It can do what you want and much more. It costs $10.

It’s also worth noting BetterTouchTool is included with Setapp.

Where BTT didn’t work for me and BetterMouse does is that BTT doesn’t capture the action? button that usually switches between clicky wheel and smooth wheel.

I use SteerMouse. I don’t think I chose that app for any particular reason - probably someone on this forum recommended it when I was looking for a solution to my problem. I have a gaming mouse and the software wasn’t compatible with a Mac, but SteerMouse meant I could customise the buttons.

I’ve never had any problems with it, though I don’t really do anything technical or clever with it. My mouse has extra buttons and I’ve programmed them for screen captures and the emoji menu.

Thanks this is what they say now

SteerMouse does not work with maOS 14.2 and 13.6.3 due to an OS bug. We will fix it as soon as we find the solution.
