It’s all personal preference, I know, but why not use Launchbar and hide all (or most) of those icons)?

I’ve set my background to change every hour, randomly selecting from a series of photos I’ve stored in a particular folder. This one is a shot of Manda beach, on the Lamu archipelago just off the Kenyan coast.
