I first upgraded my iPhone to iOS 18.2 and tried the categorized Mail. After a couple of days I upgraded my iPad too and wanted to try it on the iPad but strangely it isn’t there. I went through the settings to see if it was turned off, but no, it just doesn’t exist on the iPad. I have to say, Apple’s rollout of Apple Intelligence is pretty bizarre. It’s so obvious they were caught off guard by AI and are now scrambling to catch up.
Apple neglects the iPad just as much as many 3rd party developers. If they created all this framework to make scaling iPhone apps to the iPad easier, why don’t they use it? Where is the iPad version of the Sports app? I won’t use the Journal app until it gets an iPad/Mac version. It took years to get Weather. It’s never made sense to me.

You’re right, I think the fork of iOS into iPadOS has hurt the iPad, not helped it.
Some analysts think that the iPhone is the engine that Apple depends on for everything. Half its revenue sales comes directly from iPhone sales, and some say that people who don’t own iPhones are much less likely to buy Macs, iPads, and use Apple services.
