I’d like to make a post about my passion project which is NostalgiApp. It’s the first app i started working on for the mac and the latest to be released.
So what is it? It’s a launcher for retro gaming focused on PC retro gaming and consoles. It has full support for the eXo collections meaning you can grab them and start playing immediately. eXoDOS can even be downloaded from the app so you get 7000 DOS games from the get go.
The reason for this post is i recently enabled support for eXoWin9x which is the windows games in the latest patch, and another huge patch is dropping today with huge improvements. (Performance, bug fixes, new features).
I myself have a huge library of 55.000 games on NostalgiApp and it’s my favourite app to wind down and relax. I only switched to mac on 2009 so all my gaming before that was on DOS and Windows (and some consoles too). This is currently the best way to experience those games on the mac. Think of it as what Launchbox is on Windows, it’s very similar with a streamlined experience.
It took a huge amount of work to bring the app to this level and i believe now is a good time to share it with you all. The community of beta testers played a big role on evolving this app to the current state.
