I love tech more than almost anyone - but a bed that requires a subscription and internet service to work is beyond stupid

I agree that it is ridiculous but it seems the folks that bought it aren’t the brightest. From the linked article:

“It’s not loading because of A.W.S., which means I have no way to access my bed,” he remembered thinking. He ended up sleeping on the heated mattress all night.

Maybe just unplug it?

We subscribe to electricity from a local company, but the electricity is stored somewhere out there in the, um, cloud, I guess, and last week we had a 2 hour power outage, and my Nespresso machine wouldn’t work.

It was like living like a caveman.
