Can someone explain if there’s a reasonable reason for this behavior when I drag a few cells with dates? It’s not an issue with the file, because I tried with another file and it’s the same behavior.
The bug is on the cells on the left when I select Dec 30, Dec 31, Jan 1, and drag the handle up or down.
It looks like when you break into a “new year” is doesn’t see it as a continuous range, instead repeating.
Regardless of the display format, dates are always stored as full dates with the year. Even when a date is entered without a year, the year is inferred and stored in the cell. I find that when you change the format to show the year, these types of behaviors make more sense. Usually, one of the entries has the wrong year or something. Once you fix that and then change back to your preferred format, everything works as expected.
