One of the Most Poorly Written and Resourced Articles About an Apple Product I’ve Read in a Long While

There is mediocre writing and clickbait, and then there is this.

Addendum: I need to acknowledge a Mea culpa on my post. As noted here, this is a transcript, not an article.

My blocking software did not show the video and the transcript notation. My apologies.

Reads like a Twitter tirade.

It is terrible. Most of our ninth-grade students could write better than that. And that’s not bragging; it’s the truth. :slightly_smiling_face:

agreed - though of course it’s not really about an Apple Product - it’s about investing in Apple. And a very poor job of that.

As I think about it, that article sounds as though it was written by a poorly prompted AI. I wonder if that might be the case.

An absolutely no citation as evidence that the response was a “nothing burger.”

I would bet money that is AI. Wasn’t there a thing last year when some big publisher was turning to AI to grind out daily articles and the regular writers losing their jobs said something? Wall Street stuff tends to be click bait as it is.

I read some other articles by this author. About one in three recently are about Apple and all have an “Apple is in trouble” slant, IMO. Perhaps he should have AI write an article or two.

I seem to recall something along those lines. I definitely recall the lawyer who submitted a bad brief to the court written by AI.

That’s funny and probably a good idea given how badly it was written. Either it was a poorly written article that would have benefited from AI “intervention” or a poorly written article by AI. Take your pick. :joy:

Another critical commentary here:

I may be missing something but isn’t it the transcript of the video, you’re reading?

That would explain it but nothing I’ve seen in the article indicated it is a transcript. If it is, it should be noted.

:man_shrugging:

I’ve not been a fan of CNET since the company was sold a few years ago. And they were one of the companies that got caught using AI to write articles.

But her report was accurate and if put in a blender, with any of the many overly positive reports that have been published, would have resulted in a more balanced presentation.

That wouldn’t have stood out from the crowd at all.

My bad, my blocking software did not show the video and the transcript notation. Thank you for pointing this out. That explains a lot. I’ll edit my original post accordingly.
