I recently switched from PopClip to OpenClip as part of my ‘unsubscribe from Setapp’ effort and it is working great.

what is your use case for this app? I not fully understand the benefit

You can take actions after selecting text like copying, searching in Google, YouTube, and if it’s a terminal command running it w/o opening a terminal etc.

I usually veer open source, but given that popclip is made by a very approachable solo dev and the app has a great community around it, plus its pretty cheap (£12 for a 2 year license), I don’t think I’m on board with this one.

Thanks for the link - it’s good to know an alternative exists. However, even the €33 lifetime license is very affordable and I’ve got amazing value from it - especially as I can use it on multiple Macs for that price.

It’s much more powerful, stable and popular alternative to PopClip. It has an in-app custom actions and extension creator. Just tell it your flow and it’ll create a new custom action for you.
