Other uses for Crossover?

I am looking to run some low spec Steam games on my Mac. A lot of what I want is only available for Windows, so that means some tool like Crossover.

Two questions:

First, is Crossover going to be my best way to do this? I realize that Crossover is basically Wine, but it seems like installing Wine is kind of a mess. I would prefer to spend more time playing the games then fussing with the software.

Second, are there any other interesting uses for Crossover? Like some DOS emulation or things like that?

Spending the $80 isn’t out of the question – I am just trying to weigh whether it is worth it, and whether there might be other benefits.

Thoughts?

If you can hang in there for a few months they have good black Friday deals (usually)

First, check if the games you want to play are compatible. You can check it out on Crossover’s website. Some games don’t work at all.

Windows on Parallels? I use this for work, so not sure how well it performs with games, but the Windows apps I use are fine.
