Pastebot & App Store Sandboxing - Helper Not Working

I’ve been using Pastebot for some years, and it’s an app I can’t live without. So much so I didn’t realise how much I used it until I began having problems with it.

So, here’s the thing.

The App Store Sandboxing issue has stopped pastebot pasting directly into apps. Tapbots have introduced a Pastebot Service Installer, but it will not work for me.

Have a look at the screencasts I’ve sent to Tapbots;

The service appears to install as expected.
It’s Step 2 that is completely frozen and won’t let me select or add anything;

Has anyone else experienced this or anything similar?

I’m pretty sure you have to go to System Preferences -> Privacy to enable the service in Step 2. What you appear to be clicking on is just a static image in the installer illustrating what you’re supposed to do.

In your video you are trying to click the example image in Pastebot’s instructions. It’s just an image == nothing there to click. And it looks like the instructions inadequately points you to the wrong setting.

Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy > Accessibility section, unlock by clicking the lock and entering your password, then activate the Pastebot service.

I feel like such an idiot :dizzy_face:
I used to work on an IT Helpdesk and would take so much pleasure in laughing at customers trying to click images :see_no_evil:

That seems to have sorted the issue out, following your instructions. Thank you!
I’m a little flummoxed that no one at Tapbots spotted any of this or provided me with the instructions you have! It’s their app!

That’s interesting is nothing to do with the App Store, I’m not sure where I’ve picked that up from. Every day really is a school day!!

Thanks so much for your help with this I can’t tell you how much it has been bugging me.
