What they don’t mention in the release notes is that Apple also discontinued the early adopter one-time (lifetime) purchase discount that existed for the Mac version for anyone who bought Photomator on iOS previously… so now lifetime access is priced at the full price for everyone.
Pretty much expected, sadly.

Incidentally, this is why I tend to shy away from “lifetime” licenses for software that’s otherwise subscription-based. “Lifetime” tends to mean, “until we or our successors in interest decide that offering a lifetime license was a bad financial move, and decide to charge you anyway.”
As seen on a product label (I forget where)…
“Guaranteed for the useful life of the product.”
