Post processing a podcast (not my own)

I’ve listened to an interview with a researcher who is a big deal in my field, and I would really like to re-listen several more times while taking notes, etc.
Problem is it sounds like he’s in an office that is very, what’s the term, “live?” In other words, lots of echo. (Not an expert, but I think that’s the problem.)
The interviewer’s side sounds fine.

Is there an app that is free/cheap that I can use to clean up the audio?

Not even sure I could download it as an audio file.

Try the online version of Auphonic I assume they still offer a few hours free. It cleans lots of junk not just a leveler.
