Preparing my backlog of apps for release

Did I say final final? :grimacing:

I wrapped up a little macOS app to allow you to apply your hearing audiogram to all sound output.

I suffer from some age- and lifestyle-related hearing loss so really value the hearing adjustments feature in AirPods Pro 2.

But on macOS it’s more difficult to apply the hearing adjustments to speaker sound output. I was using an old version of SoundSource to do this but it was overkill and a bit of a CPU and RAM hog. Ripe for a DIY workaround!

SoundSource

  • many features
  • slow to launch
  • 85 MB on disk
  • > 300 MB in memory
  • audio driver required
  • macOS 15 Sequoia and up

My app (EQer)

  • one specific job
  • instant launch
  • 414 KB on disk
  • < 30 MB in memory
  • no driver required
  • macOS 14 Sonoma and up

Pricing

Which app? What would you pay for it?

I’m thinking they will range from $5 (mainstream/general) to $15 (niche/specialist).

Also reduced launch period price for all of March, and there will be some bundles.

I like how Sindre Sorhus prices his apps.
