Problems with Google Contatcs on iOS & Cloud workarounds

Hi everybody,

I’m a longtime reader from Germany. I use an iPhone 11 (latest iOS) and an iPad - but I’m not fully in the Apple Ecosystem: I use a Windows Laptop (with Office, Firefox and Thunderbird) and my smartwatch is from Garmin. I have two Echo Speakers with Alexa and a Fire TV Stick.

Because of that setup, I use different Cloud Services - mainly Google for Calendar, Mail, Contatcs and Photos. GMail with the Apple-Mail App on iOS works fine - Google Calendar too.

Annoyingly the Google Contatcs sync doesn’t work properly with iOS: The contacts aren’t synced (see the screenshots below). I changed all settings and read tutorials, but nothing worked. It bothers me.

Attached there are a few screenshots

Can you help?

I have another question: Because I’m an Amazon-Prime-User I have the Amazon Photos App acitivated to view my photos on the TV with the Fire-TV Stick. Regularly I use Google Photos, because it’s much more user-friendly. My documents are on Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. Do you have recommendations how to unify my Cloud-Services for the next years? I plan to purchase Google One, because my memory-limit is at 80 %. Is it advisable to move all my documents to Google Drive? The documents itself are mainly pdf- and Word-Documents. I will use Windows for the next years.

It’s important to me, to have a strategie about my digital files for the next 10 years.

Kind regards
