I saw that one and immediately thought it couldn’t possibly be much use, because Discourse is not one-dimensional.
This is the weak point of Tapestry — it’s really not suited to any source that you regularly interact with.

I must say that Reddit works for me though - certain subreddits of course but mainly, I find that I prefer Tapestry’s Reddit feed that Reddit’s.
I follow along here in Tapestry using the RSS connector. It took a little getting used to but I honestly now prefer the feed format - I can scroll and catch up quickly, and easily jump into a conversation with a tap to see more or reply.
How does it inform you when someone comments on a topic?
There aren’t notifications within the app, it shows up as an item in the feed.
I find this view on the web site to be very efficient.
Similarly the Unread and New views on the main page. For the New view, particularly, I pick those topics I have an interest in (either to read or contribute or both) and then when I’m done I just clear out what’s left.
I’ve never thought this needed to be any different because I dip in here only one or two times a week and catch up easily.
I read more often, but same. Discourse keyboard shortcuts let me fly through all those views. For forums I don’t closely read, the two week roll up email is enough. Appreciate that Discourse is committed to easy API and RSS options though.
