I just purchased the OF 4 Field Guide, Plus Edition. I’m using Reminders. Why would I spent $100 for the OF 4 FG? Simply put, to support David. I have learned a tremendous amount from @MacSparky’s work. This is my way of giving back. I’ll certainly watch the videos but at this point don’t plan to use OF. This is simply my contribution to David’s good work, a tangible way of expressing gratitude.
PS, notwithstanding my aversion to subscriptions, I’m not so cheap after all!
I want to get better at OF. Learn Omnifocus prices are going up soon. I like to procrastinate. I have been working through it but too slowly.
The OF Field Guid provides a fixed price resource, that should give me the information I need while still indulging in procrastination. I realize the irony of my purchasing reasoning.
I also wanted to see more concrete examples of how David uses roles with OF and how other people apply this tool and the strategies behind their decisions.
Feeling bad. I was thinking I should plow through my old OF field guide before this came out and now it’s out!
Is the older one still up?
I should probably get the Keyboard Maiestro FG before another OF FG.
Interesting, I didn’t get an email and I have many Field Guides. Also not listed on the home page. I hope @MacSparky sees this comment and knows what’s going on.
I have the OF3 field guide but having just switched back to omnifocus I thought I would brush up so picked up the OF4 field guide. Sparky delivers again!
Can anyone tell me what the webinars in the Plus Edition cover?
I am pretty good with OmniFocus 3. Part of my reason for considering the new Field Guide is I want to revamp my OF organization and process of using it. I think it might be too complicated for what I need. Right now I use a mix of what I’ve learned from David Sparks in the past and from Creating Flow with Kourosh Dini. With this in mind, am I better off getting the OF4 Field Guide or Productivity Field Guide?
There haven’t been any productivity field guide webinars announced yet. I think Sparks is still finishing up the Shortcuts webinars right now. I imagine he’ll eventually turn his focus to the Productivity field guide webinars after the Shortcuts webinars are done.
I got the productivity field guide to sharpen my overall game and productivity workflows. This field guide will help no matter what task manager app you decide to use. It’s a tool-agnostic field guide.
You can get the OF4 field guide later if you wanna sharpen your OF4 workflows. This field guide does have some of the ideas from the productivity field guide. After all, OF4 is his tool of choice.
