Query re: monitor set-up with M1 MacBook Pro (Max)

Hi there guys,

I have a query re: monitor set up that I wonder if someone can help with.

I have a 16 inch 2021 M1 Max.

I would like to connect three external monitors. I have found this monitor on a Black Friday deal with Amazon: (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-U32R590-Inch-Curved-Monitor/dp/B08WXFDRXN/ref=sr_1_13?crid=H5TB0TODGMGP&keywords=monitor&qid=1668953231&refinements=p_n_feature_browse-bin%3A319914031&rnid=319909031&s=computers&sprefix=moni%2Caps%2C70&sr=1-13)

I think I can connect up to four monitors. Is that right?

Here’s my main query: would it be possible to do so with just using a docking station? I’d still like to be able to use my MacBook around and about, so only plugging in one wire at my desk would be attractive, but obviously not essential.

Guidance gratefully received and sorry if this is a silly question.

Uh, no

This might be helpful:

All you need is a Thunderbolt dock that can do 2 monitors (hdmi and or displayport) and one connected to the MBP. That’s 3 external screens sorted.

It will be easier if you have thunderbolt screens as you can daisy chain 2 up to 4k monitors of one port on the MBP
