Reading RSS on macOS?

I see it as the spiritual successor to NetNewsWire, which was my RSS reader of choice for many years.

Speaking of which, Brent got NetNewsWire back!

The public beta of NetNewsWire is available for download. I was not aware of that:

I somehow even missed the discussion here a year ago.

This is just great. And Brent Simmons and the other contributors do even publish the application as Open Source so that everyone can contribute and even learn from the code that is mostly Swift. Just awesome!

This is exactly what RSS needs. These days, the regular user does not even know any longer what the power of free RSS feeds means. It feels like a good old remnant of those glorious good old days of the internet.

I am so happy to see it happening.

After many years with Feedly i am now using News Explorer. I like it a lot. The interface is very nice and has many useful functions. It is in Setapp and I paid for the iOS app so I have it running on both macs and iPhone and iPad. As noted above it syncs via iCloud.

Another recent discovery is kill-the-newsletter which lets me turn a number of my email newsletters into RSS feeds.
