Recreating a Tasks View from Apple Reminders

I can’t stay with Reminders. First attempt is to switch back to 2Do, since it’s in SetApp. I also found Godspeed in SetApp and I really like the keyboard driven interface and quick entry potential (part of why I’m leaving Reminders!).

BUT

Reminders let me have a view that had basically become my daily launchpad. I loved it. 4 smart lists ordered in a single view to look like this.

Does anyone have a similar view working in another task management app? I’m trying to build it in 2Do or Godspeed without much luck.

FYI: - Today - Must Do (due today or overdue + !!! importance)

  • Today - Should Do (due today or overdue + !! importance)

  • Today - Could Do (due today or overdue + ! importance)

  • Today - Ongoing ((due today or overdue + no importance set)

Got it!

Very quick help from users on the Godspeed Slack and I’m already seeing how it can be done. Stay tuned for screenshots…

I like that; I may give that setup a try! Thanks for sharing!

I find it very helpful a) when doing my start of the day planning b) when I find 10-15 minutes I didn’t expect during the day. It gives me a very quick, glanceable view on the things I could get checked off in that unexpected window.

Very smart! I’m not above stealing so thanks for leaving the door unlocked.

PS, I have to ask, why can’t you stay with Reminders?

We’ll see how I feel after a week or two of us, but so far Godspeed feels like the best of all worlds. Super quick and responsive task entry (my biggest gripe with Reminders), has all the features I need, lots of customizability, and great support via Slack.

Task entry/capture was terribly slow (I always use a list, due date, importance, and ideally duration). But this was the breaking point for me:

Are you suggesting that Apple‘s natural language processing and AI are not world class? :joy::wink:

Indeed.

As well as just plain old fashioned “search.” Does anyone remember search?

Google made internet searching mainstream, which has been a tremendous tool. Unfortunately, over the last several years, Google’s search results have become a jumbled mess—hard to read and filled with SEO-optimized links, videos, and ads. That said, I’m finding Google’s AI search much more pleasant to use. I’m also using Perplexity and ChatGPT for searches more often than Google.

I just started using Godspeed and am working on a dashboard similar to yours, based on labels and smart lists. But I think your way is better. I’m off to the Godspeed slack channel to see how you did it.

Update: I checked the Slack channel. I had created a single smart list for my dashboard (which I’m calling a Focus list). @Jezmund_Berserker is using a folder with multiple smart lists, which is simpler, easier and more flexible.

Thanks!
