Do you subscribe to Connect?
I do. I don’t make a significant use of it at the moment.
It’s simply syncing my content to mitigate in case of the loss of the device
I have both RM2 and Scribe (1st Gen).
The contrast on the remarkable is pretty poor for my eyes and anything except good lighting makes it hard work. Especially with templates. The writing experience is better on my Scribe in my opinion. Handwriting search on the Scribe is not yet available, but being rolled out with AI. Handwriting search on the RM2 is locked to the Connect subscription.
They are both a similar weight. The pen nib wear on the RM2 I find rather rapid and does affect writing, also on the RM2 you cannot write to the edge of the screen as it doesn’t write properly. The Scribe does not have this issue.
Organising notebooks is similar on both.
I use my Scribe more as I can access my Kindle books. The Scribe’s ‘Active Canvas’ notes do not sync across to the other Kindle apps on other devices. You need to use the notes function instead. It is however nice to be able to write on a page in a book. Finally, you cannot have a kindle book open and a notebook open and switch between them. So if you want to record your reading notes in Scribe’s notebook feature not in the book itself you’re out of luck.
Still using it as initially described. Whereas I used to walk into most meetings with an iPad, I now have a single printed page (agenda, plan, etc.) and the RM. I take very few notes, focusing on what really matters for follow-up (in this conversation, but if I write it first I’m less likely to interrupt the speaker), or later action.
When the meeting is over, I type my action items into my task manager.
I save all the pages in Dropbox as an archive in case I need them.
Then I delete the page in the RM.
So far, still, so good.
