Reminders in iOS 18: All the new features coming this fall

I’m glad to see these changes. These will make Reminders a better application. I hope that the AI works as well as advertised.:crossed_fingers:t2:

Looking forward to this. Still on the fence about reminders in my calendar, but I could see it growing on me.

Can you be selective on which reminder categories go on the calendar?

If you’re on the beta, perhaps you could give feedback requesting this feature. I think it would be very helpful. I’d give the feedback but I don’t run betas.

That one aspect would keep me on Fantastical (among other things). 10 reminders on a day would make my calendar useable.

As someone who moved to Reminders from being a long time Omnifocus user, the thing I miss the most is a “Repeat every (blank) after completion” setting. That would be a big value add for me.

Done - and I’ve also suggested the ability to link specific Lists with specific Calendars

I think you could „hack“ something together via Shortcuts and Automation.

I just tested it and searched for all the items that were ended today (in German it says Beendigungsdatum) and had certain tags and were in list XY, which resulted in a list of 4 tasks out of the 20 I finished today. As you receive a list you could then change them to unchecked with a custom repeat date in X days eg.

I do something similar with my routine tasks and works flawlessly - have the automation run every day at 6:00 for my morning routine tasks and at 21:00 for my evening routine tasks, which has the benefit that those tasks do not clutter my Reminders until they are needed. Yeah I miss defer dates from OF :upside_down_face:.

Granted it’s not ideal but maybe helps to scratch an itch (is that a phrase in English?) :man_shrugging:
