Reminders Mail Drop Workflow

Hey everyone!

I just created a little workflow I call Reminders Mail Drop, and it’s been a game-changer for keeping my inbox organized and my tasks on track. With just a few steps, you can automatically turn emails into reminders in Apple’s Reminders app.

It’s especially handy if you’re using a PC at work and still want to capture tasks straight into Reminders. Just note that attachments aren’t processed.

The workflow involves:

  1. Creating an iCloud alias – a dedicated email address just for reminders.
  2. Setting up a Shortcuts automation – so any email sent to your alias becomes a reminder automatically. (Screenshots included below!)
  3. Adding a mail rule in iCloud – to clear the alias inbox regularly and keep it tidy.

If you try it, I’d love to hear how it works for you! Drop a comment or share your tweaks — feedback is always welcome.

Thanks for reading!

I implement the exact same idea but it’s way more universal.

I call it “Contextual Reminder”

Needs:

→ Apple Intelligence turned on
→ Actions app from the app store

The idea is this:

Whenever I am browsing my phone and I think, “hey I have this sweet idea that I would love to revisit/explore later but I don’t have time for right now” and I triple tap the back of my phone which does the following:

→ Takes a screenshot
→ Extracts text from the screenshot
→ Uses apple intelligence / chatgpt to remove garbage from the text
→ saves it in reminders with the screenshot as the attachment

Thanks for sharing. What app is in your third step?

The third step doesn’t use an app, you just do it directly in your iCloud account on the web.
Thanks.
